Last night ROAST picked up an award for marketing excellence at the Masterclassing Awards ceremony. The team were victorious in the Influencer Marketing category for the great work with Maria Casino.

This isn’t the first time that ROAST has been recognised within the industry. Despite being only two years old, we’re proud to have been named as finalists two years running at the Performance Marketing Awards’ in the ‘Agency of the Year’ category and we’ve recently been nominated in the ‘Value for Money’ category at the RAR Award’s.

The, now, award-winning ‘Escape from Dull’ campaign was devised and executed by ROAST with the objective to launch the Maria Casino brand and promote the gaming website to a highly-targeted audience in the UK.

In order to tap into, not only a large, but relevant audience for Maria Casino, ROAST approached the YouTube sensation Mark ‘Turps’ Turpin and set him a unique challenge. Turps had 12 hours to get as far away from the remote village of Dull in the Scottish Highlands, with no money, using just his wits, his audience and a bag of seemingly useless items to barter with, such as a Braveheart DVD.

The results that were generated from the campaign far exceeded both clients’ and agency’s’ expectations resulting in a campaign that generated 22 million brand impressions in just 12 hours that drove a 54% increase in branded search volume and an 85% increase in first time depositing players.

Two fans flew over from Denmark to the UK just so they could fully immerse themselves in the event, whilst one guy even got himself an ‘Escape from Dull’ tattoo as memorabilia for the occasion – true dedication to the cause.” said Bob D’Mello, ROAST’s Head of Campaigns.
