About the role:

A Freelance SEO Consultant is required to support a client team at ROAST, reporting into the SEO Account Manager, and in close-operation with the SEO Director. The role involves technical expertise in website development and a strong understanding of up-to-date search engine algorithms.

You will be able to hit the ground running, with a sound understanding of organic search, experience of delivering high level SEO consultancy and a desire to learn new skills and practices. We’re looking for someone with a logical and analytical mind who can show initiative and take pride in their work. You should be confident and an effective communicator.

Successful candidates will be responsible for auditing sites of prospective clients, as well as working closely with their SEO team and client’s web development and IT teams to ensure the SEO strategy is implemented correctly.

Responsibilities

  • Create and execute a successful SEO campaign to meet and exceed clients objectives, including rankings, traffic volumes and ROI targets
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, including being an effective and confident communicator clients (written and oral)
  • Analyse the latest changes in search engine algorithms and industry developments and adjust strategy accordingly
  • Share best practice findings and research with the wider SEO teams
  • Delegate tasks and project manage to ensure all deadlines and targets are met

 

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • 3+ years’ technical SEO experience, either freelance or in an agency environment
  • Keyword research & mapping
  • Backlink auditing
  • On-site technical auditing
  • Experienced with SEO migrations
  • Good knowledge of page speed optimisation and Core Web Vitals
  • Proficient with reporting tools, including GA, Adobe, GSC, and rank tracking services.
  • Good working knowledge of crawling software (Screaming Frog, or cloud-based services)
  • Knowledge of SERP features and optimisation for featured snippets.
  • Able to build SEO reports with ease using Excel or Data Studio (or similar)
  • Knowledge of HTML, CSS, JS, and Schema mark-up (incl JSON-LD)
