Earlier this month we hosted our second hugely successful TIPi Academy programme, designed to educate young people looking to start a career in the digital media agency business.
The Academists are welcomed in on their first day
Those selected are invited to attend a free two-week intensive programme; with interactive seminars and workshops; giving them a closer insight into the culture, and career opportunities a digital media agency offers. Unfortunately, there are no sessions on late night agency pub crawls or how to style it out post Christmas parties…but we do talk from the hip about agency life, being curious, and an industry that is very much about hard work, but a great place to be rewarded and grow quickly.

The academy was launched last year in response to current industry challenges in attracting fresh and diverse talent, and to mitigate churn amongst younger employees. It was felt that younger people looking for a career in media needed a more inspirational, and immersive way to experience the industry.

With the aim of giving a more diverse group of people the chance to showcase their abilities, the academy programme has adopted a more holistic approach. The course provides attendees with insights and a more hands on approach to experiencing life in a digital agency.
Celebrating at our local
The agency world has been subject to a lot of negative press of late with work life being – unbalanced and at worst toxic. We hope this programme can help in driving positive outcomes in tackling mental issues and manage expectations in the workplace, ensuring younger members of staff are better prepared, and equally, select the right agency career path that is best suited to their personal management skills and goals.
