Spilling the Tea with our MVP: Kate Sweet
Our latest TIPi MVP is our Marketing Executive Kate Sweet, Congratulations Kate! So we decided to wise up on our knowledge of Kate and ask her some questions…
What is a fact about you that many wouldn’t know?
In the 2004 Athens Olympics, I was solely responsible for Team GB receiving a gold medal in the velodrome. Love a Lime bike…Okay. Not true. What you may not know about me, despite my HORRIFIC karaoke skills, is that I spent my teen years opera singing, with comedies including Strauss’ Die Fledermaus and G & S’ Iolanthe to more serious works like Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas.
What has been your proudest moment since being at TIPi?
My proudest achievement, so far, would have to be organising the TIPi Academy. It was a chance to work alongside almost everyone in the company in some capacity, however, it was an organisational feat but one I enjoyed thoroughly. As an educational initiative, this year we have transformed the Academy into one which promotes social mobility, targeting colleges and schools, and has altered the way we market the academy, ensuring it is a learning experience focused on giving a real-life view of agency life.
As an industry that can be challenging to kickstart a career, I am proud to have been involved with an opportunity such as this. Find out more about our TIPi Academy here.
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?
Always say yes to new opportunities. Not to say ‘YOLO’, which is essentially the same sentiment, but I really believe that it’s always worth trying something new.
If you could only watch one film for the rest of your life, what would it be and why?
This is HARD. I love a Bridget Jones binge fest and I also do love anything with Hugh Grant or Colin Firth but if I had to pick ONE, I’d have to go with Ghost. For three reasons. The questionable CGI, the comedic icon that is Whoopi Goldberg, and needless to say, Patrick Swayze’s arms in THAT pottery scene.
Thank you Kate for everything you do for TIPi Group! Kate organised an incredible TIPi Academy and it was a huge success. Here are the reasons why Kate was voted this month’s MVP:
- I’d like to nominate Kate as MVP for this month. Kate has taken on a great deal of responsibility over the last couple of months, particularly in the organisation of the TIPi Academy. It’s thanks to Kate that the TIPi Academy flourished and that the programme ran so smoothly for both the Academists, and those of us from TIPi Group who were involved. Kate’s work here highlights both her strong leadership and collaboration skills. Well done Kate!
- The academy was a total success and with Kate leading force on it she deserves MVP! She has my vote.
- Kate smashed it with the TIPi academy and it’s no easy job but she did it all with a smile on her face. Aside from that, Kate shows true purpose and goes above and beyond to help however she can and always be learning.
