Rolando 101: Describe yourself!
A family man, happily married for two years with a wonderful 10-month-old baby. I was Born in Johannesburg, and moved to Cape Town 4 years ago. A fun fact about me is I am a dual citizen with my second citizenship being Portugal. I am a passionate Formula 1 and Chelsea FC fan. I also have other children – our 3 dogs and cat.
What is your favourite thing about working for ROAST?
I would have to say just being a part of this amazing team. I am a strong believer in that culture and leadership drives a company’s growth and ROAST has both of these. Just being able to come to work excited every day (yes, including a Monday) and knowing you will be learning something new. Also, just working with a variety of clients that not only are aligned to ROAST values, but also comes with their own challenges which enables us to work closely with them to get the best for their business.
What are you proudest of in your career so far?
There are many, but would have to say given the opportunity to work and grow within the franchise digital marketing space. Franchise marketing provides its own set of challenges as each area differs and there is no copy and paste approach but also allows for reward as you get to work with different people. This has also given me the opportunity to work with and develop amazing teams across the globe. Franchise marketing is also a good foundation to build younger people that are looking to get into digital marketing.
What is the best advice you could give to your younger self?
One sentence of advice I would give my younger self is – Take every challenge as an opportunity for growth!
If you were abandoned on a desert island, what would be your luxury item?
My Samsung watch so I can make sure I am getting my 10,000 steps in everyday. Need to get all the health points even while I am away.
